ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF GATEWAY PARK SITE LIGHTING AND TRAIL EXTENSION

ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF GATEWAY PARK SITE LIGHTING AND TRAIL EXTENSION TOWN OF CICERO – ONONDAGA COUNTY, NEW YORK

Sealed bids for the construction of Gateway Park Site Lighting and Trail Extension, will be received at the office of the Town Clerk, Town of Cicero, PO Box 1517, 8236 South Main Street, Cicero, New York, 13039, until 10:00am, Local Time, May 19, 2009 and there at said office at said time publicly opened and read aloud. Project includes the installation of new road lighting and recreational lighting fixtures including associated electrical connections and extension of stone dust trail at the Gateway Park located off Bull Street in the Town of Cicero, Onondaga County, New York. The project is funded (in part) by a grant from the Onondaga County Community Development Division.

Bidders will be required to commit themselves to a goal for minority business participation in the contract. These goals are outlined in the Information for Bidders Section of the Contract Documents. Approximately $70,000 of the project cost will be financed with federal money. The Contract Documents may be obtained only from the office of Maxian & Horst, Landscape Architects, 306 Hawley Avenue, Syracuse, New York, 13203, beginning April 28, 2009 and upon deposit of the sum of $50 per set. Checks shall be made payable to the Town of Cicero. The full amount of deposit for one set of Contract Documents will be refunded to any Bidder who has duly submitted a bid accompanied by the bid security required in this advertisement and who returns the Contract Document complete and in good condition within thirty days following the award of the Contract or the rejection of the bid. The full amount of deposit for one set of Contract Documents will be refunded to the successful Bidder upon execution of the Contract Documents.

A partial refund in the amount of $25.00 will be made for the return, within thirty days following the award of the Contract or the rejection of the bids, of other sets of Contract Documents complete and in good condition.

Copies of the above described Contract Documents may be examined beginning April 28, 2009 at no expense at the Office of the Town Clerk, Town of Cicero, PO Box 1517, 8236 South Main Street, Cicero, New York, 13039,

the office of Maxian & Horst, Landscape Architects, 306 Hawley Avenue, Syracuse, New York, 13203, and Onondaga County Community Development Division, 1100 Civic Center, 421 Montgomery Street, Syracuse, New York, 13202

The Owner is exempt from the payment of sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York and of cities and counties on all materials, equipment and supplies sold to the Owner pursuant to this Contract. Also exempt from such taxes are purchases by the Contractor and his Subcontractors of materials, equipment and supplies to be sold to the Owner pursuant to this Contract, including tangible personal property to be incorporated in any structure, building or other real property forming part of the Project. These taxes are not to be included in the Bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, cash, certified check, or cashier’s check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.
