‘Amazon’s Coming’ Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon’s Daily COVID19 Briefing: “You can’t think restart without thinking about this once in a generation project.” – May 18, 2020 at 3:00 PM


As nursing homes are now calculated, revised numbers have pushed the countywide death toll to 103. There are now 1,614 total cases with 837 recoveries reported as we have reached a high number in hospitalizations at 67 with 16 in Intensive Care. The state has required 775 tests conducted per day to meet requirements; Onondaga County and the multiple county region have a 7-day average of 1,352.

All indications from the briefing is that we’re moving in the right direction and need to maintain social distancing. In addition, there was a special announcement as the county unveiled the tenant for the new Clay facility as Amazon, “You can’t think restart without thinking about this once in a generation project.” Said J. Ryan McMahon in a much-needed uplifting announcement.
