Bacon Festival Returns to Clinton Square on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13

Smithfield® to Host the Annual Bacon-Inspired Celebration in its Inaugural Year as Sponsor

Syracuse, N.Y., July 19, 2022 – The Smithfield® Bacon Festival will be held on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13 in Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse. The event will run from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on both days. Admission is free.

The Smithfield Bacon Festival will feature dozens of vendors serving bacon-inspired treats. All vendors will be required to have items that contain bacon on their menus, such as bacon burgers, bacon mac n’ cheese, bacon-wrapped scallops, and bacon sundaes.

“The Smithfield Bacon Festival is one of Syracuse’s most anticipated events of the year and we are thrilled to join the community in this celebration of all things bacon,” said Michael Merritt, senior director of brand marketing at Smithfield Foods. “Beyond the delicious array of bacon treats and exciting activations, we’re also excited to send a few lucky residents home with a year’s supply of free Smithfield bacon!”

Other festival attractions will include non-stop music played by local musicians, an activity zone, wine slushies, ice cold beer, and contests.

“We are very excited to bring the Bacon Festival back to Clinton Square, sponsored by Smithfield in 2022! This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever with two full days of live entertainment, tasty treats, and family fun,” said Carrie Wojtaszek, chief operations officer at Galaxy. “We look forward to tasting the delicious creations from our local food vendors and hearing all of the great live music.”
