Dana Balter stands strong in her commitment to hold open public meetings while a candidate and once in office
Syracuse, NY – Dana Balter, Democratic nominee for New York’s 24th Congressional District, announces dates for four upcoming public town hall events, one in each county of NY-24. These events are part of the larger Campaign Finance and Government Reform agenda to increase government transparency and engagement. Balter pledged to uphold the reform agenda while running her campaign as well as in office. In contrast, Rep. John Katko has not held a single open-access public town hall since taking office in 2014.
Dates for the upcoming public events are listed below, with additional details to follow.
Onondaga County: Saturday, August 18th
Wayne County: Saturday, August 25th
Cayuga County: Wednesday, September 5th
Oswego County: Sunday, September 9th
Balter has pledged to hold a minimum of four public town halls a year while in office, one in each county of the 24th district. These events will be open to all and have at least 30 minutes for questions and answers.
Balter has earned the endorsement of UNITEHERE! Local 150, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, End Citizens United, and over 15 local elected officials. Last week, Balter was added to the DCCC’s Red to Blue Program, and a new poll showed her with a 4% lead over Rep. Katko.
