Syracuse, New York –On Wednesday, December 18th, South State Street, between East Adams Street and Harrison Street, will be closed for the Salvation Army Christmas Bureau distribution.
Beginning at approximately 8:30 am, the 800 block of South State Street will be closed to normal traffic for the Salvation Army’s annual Christmas giveaway. The street is expected to remain closed until 7:00pm, so that over 3,000 families can pick up food baskets and Christmas gifts. Downtown motorists are asked to plan accordingly and use an alternative route to avoid delays.
Traffic attempting to travel south or looking to connect to Route 81 should utilize Montgomery Street or South Townsend Street as an alternative.
Traffic attempting to travel north should utilize South Warren Street or Townsend Street to reach their destination.
