Citizens Academy Accepting Applications for New Participants

SYRACUSE The Citizens Academy is now accepting applications from Onondaga County residents for its 8-week fall program that helps citizens learn how local governments work, and how to get involved and effect change.

The Citizens Academy is an interactive educational program that informs citizens of Onondaga County about how local governments are organized, and how services are funded and delivered.Citizens Academy Accepting Applications

Citizens Academy was created and is administered by FOCUS Greater Syracuse and University College (UC) of Syracuse University.

UC’s community programs serve as a bridge between the academic purposes of the University and the interests and needs of the community. Community programs apply the knowledge and resources of higher education to enrich individual lives by studying, discussing, and making recommendations on community issues and problems.
