Oct. 23 – 1 – 5 p.m.

The City of Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Programs will unveil its new Imagination Playground™. The innovative play equipment was provided by UnitedHealthcare (@DoGoodLiveWell) and national non-profit KaBOOM! (@kaboom). Together, they will help the City of Syracuse become more playable by making it easier for kids to have the childhood they deserve, filled with balanced and active play, so they can thrive.

Imagination Playground in a Cart™ features a collection of oversized blue foam parts that enables children to build and rebuild play structures with their imaginations. It helps develop healthy bodies, resilient and creative minds, and social and emotional well-being. Architect David Rockwell designed Imagination Playground to encourage child-directed, unstructured free play.

Play is central to a child’s ability to grow into a productive adult. It can transform children from sedentary, bored and solitary to physically, mentally and socially active.

After building 28 playgrounds together, this is the 7th Imagination Playground UnitedHealthcare has donated in conjunction with KaBOOM!.Through this partnership, more kids will have the play-filled childhood they deserve. UnitedHealthcare supports KaBOOM! in ensuring that all kids get the balanced and active play they need to thrive.
