County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II, was joined by other elected leaders this morning to encourage the local Albany delegation to restore the Aid and Incentives to Municipalities (AIM) funding back to local governments.
“While we are encouraged that our friends in Albany recognize the need to restore AIM funding to Towns and Villages, restoring these cuts on the backs of Counties and Cities is unacceptable,” says County Executive McMahon. “These policies will pull from the property taxpayers’ right packet instead of their left pocket. In addition the policy of telling local governments how they spend their revenue is unprecedented and dangerous. We call on our Local Delegation of Assembly members and Senators to restore AIM cuts in the State budget, but not on the backs of local property taxpayers.”
