County Executive McMahon Signs Executive Order Closing All Malls in Onondaga County


Executive Order takes effect 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 18th, 2020

Syracuse, N.Y. – County Executive Ryan McMahon announced a new Executive Order that directs all malls within Onondaga County to close effective 5:00 P.M. today, Wednesday, March 18th, 2020. The Executive Order applies to Destiny USA, Shoppingtown Mall and Great Northern Mall.

The Executive Order is another step by County Executive McMahon to remain ahead of the COVID-19 crisis and enhance Onondaga County’s efforts to flatten the curve through social distancing. As more measures are taken to protect the public health, County Executive McMahon reminds members of the community that we must continue to look out for one another.

County Executive McMahon said, “Our community has come together in a truly remarkable way during this crisis. Let’s remember to check on our loved ones, neighbors and friends during this time and I am confident our community will emerge stronger than ever when this is over.”

The Executive Order was signed this morning.
