Syracuse, N.Y. – Onondaga County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II announced the December 2019 schedule of outreach events to assist seniors in signing up for the Home Energy Assistance Program (H.E.A.P.) in Onondaga County.
County Executive McMahon said, “As temperatures continue to fall, I encourage our local senior citizens who need help paying their energy bills to attend one of these informative events to learn more about what resources are available to them.” McMahon continued, “Thank you to our team at the Office for Aging for their work in this effort.”
Assistance will be offered at the attached locations and appointments are not necessary. Seniors who are unable to attend, can call (315) 435-2362 and ask that an application be mailed to them.
H.E.A.P. provides subsidies for heating and utility costs to seniors aged 60 or older that are income eligible. H.E.A.P. assistance is available on a first come, first served basis and individuals are encouraged to fill out their applications as soon as possible.
