Nicotra to start December 31st
Syracuse, N.Y. – County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II announced today that Mark Nicotra has been selected as the next Executive Communications Director. Nicotra’s responsibilities will include the dissemination of public communications and information with various government, private and non-profit partners in the community. Nicotra will also work with the aforementioned to find new and collaborative ways to help implement the County Executive’s vision for Onondaga County and address some of our pressing issues such as poverty, infrastructure and a restructured approach to economic development.
County Executive McMahon said, “Mark has done an outstanding job as Supervisor of the Town of Salina and I am grateful that he has agreed to join our team and help implement our vision for our community as a whole.” McMahon continued, “As I have said before, it will take all of us coming together to tackle issues of poverty, infrastructure and economic development and I am confident that Mark will do a great job bringing our message to our various partners.”
Mark Nicotra said, “County Executive McMahon and his administration have hit the ground running to execute on his mission for our community. I am excited to join the team and assist in sharing with the public and our fellow government and community partners the good work being done.” Nicotra continued, “As town Supervisor I understood how important it was to communicate with the citizens of Salina and I look forward to bringing those skills to the County Executive’s Office.”
Nicotra served as a videographer and editor with WSTM-TV for twelve years before becoming Supervisor of the Town of Salina. Mark will step down as Supervisor prior to joining County government. The Salina Town Board will select his replacement.
