County Offers Seminars on Medicare Prescription Drug And Part B Savings Opportunities

County Executive Joanne M. Mahoney and Lisa D. Alford, Commissioner of Onondaga County’s Department of Aging and Youth, are pleased to announce four seminars discussing how Medicare beneficiaries can save money on their Part D prescription drug coverage and/or help pay their Part B premiums. Employees from the Department of Aging and Youth will also be present at the seminars to discuss other income-stretching programs available to seniors such as SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) and HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program).

The seminars are free and open to the public, and will be held on the following dates at the stated locations:

July 20 10:30 – 11:30 am North Onondaga Public Library

July 26 1:30 – 2:30 pm Westcott Community Center
826 Euclid Avenue, Syracuse

August 2 1-2 pm Jordan – Elbridge Community Center
Rt. 31 West, Jordan

August 19 1-2 pm Canton Woods Senior Center
