COVID Cases rise to 724 As Broad-Based Testing Begins: Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon’s Daily COVID19 Briefing – April 23, 2020


Latest update from the County Executive’s Office, Executive Order Number 7-G has been extended through April 29, 2020. This order extends the closure of all Onondaga County enclosed malls. Executive Order No. 1-H pertains to spending during the pandemic.

“Think of it as a building on fire,” Onondaga County Executive J. Ryan McMahon said. “We’re going in, we’re fixing the building, we’re containing the fire, then we go on to the next spot.” We have 17 affiliated and 12 cases that are community spread related.

  • 9,186 Number of tests administered
  • 8,974 returned
  •    724 positives
  • 8,250 Negative tests
  • 107 pending tests
  • 159 tests completed yesterday
  • 860 people in isolation/Quarantine.
