Syracuse, NY – On Tuesday, Dana Balter released the following statement on Vice President Joe Biden’s selection of Senator Kamala Harris to be his running mate.
“I applaud Vice President Joe Biden for his selection of Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate. Senator Harris has consistently fought for working people during her time as California Attorney General and as a United States Senator. As the first Black woman and the first Asian American to join a major party’s presidential ticket, she understands the gravity of this moment in American history and will bring critical leadership skills and deep policy expertise to the position of Vice President.
Over the past several months, we’ve experienced a profound lack of leadership at the federal level, which has unquestionably worsened the public health and economic crises we now find ourselves in. Through their refusal to deliver real solutions on COVID relief, President Trump and the Republicans in Congress — including our own Representative John Katko — have abandoned Americans in their greatest time of need. We are more than ready for real leadership that will work in the best interests of the American people.
I’m extremely proud to support the historic Biden-Harris ticket, and look forward to working with the Biden-Harris administration to bring forth real solutions to our country’s most pressing challenges.”
