Democrat Dana Balter Receives Major Endorsements as the Race for the 24th Congressional District Heats Up

Congressional Candidate Dana Balter won the Democratic Party designation for Onondaga County. Balter has now won the party designation in all four counties that comprise the 24th congressional district – Onondaga, Cayuga, Wayne, and Oswego.

According to Mark English, a county Democratic Committee chairman, “Our candidate is dynamic and passionately committed to the working people of the 24th district.

“I am thrilled to have the official designation from all four counties. With a united Democratic Party and a wave of grassroots support we are ready to win this race and to finally create some real change in Washington that will help New York families,” said Balter.

This has been a productive week for Congressional Candidate Dana Balter as she continues to rack up endorsements from Democratic Committees across the region.

Dana Balter gathers early endorsements by county committees.

Perhaps the most important development for Balter is being endorsed by the Working Families Party.

Working Families Party Endorse Dana Balter for Congress in a statement: “She is the strongest voice in complete support of all issues important to Working Families … everything from Medicare for All to campaign finance reform to support for organized labor.

“Again and again throughout the country, it is clear that only candidates who have the fortitude and courage to speak out on these issues can beat back Trump Republicans like John Katko and win. Candidates who do not firmly differentiate themselves from their Republican opponents lose over and over again.”

“The Working Families Party is a powerful force for working families and I am honored to have their endorsement. Together, we will continue to advance policies that make our communities stronger — good jobs, affordable healthcare, quality education, and fair taxes.” It’s time to put Central New Yorkers first. ” said Balter.

A former director of education for a disabilities services non-profit and current professor at Syracuse University, Dana Balter entered the race for NY-24 in September of 2017.

The 24th District includes all of Cayuga, Onondaga, and Wayne counties and the western part of Oswego County. New York’s 24th Congressional District is one of 23 Republican House districts that Hillary Clinton won in 2016.

The campaign is far from over as Anne Messenger has mounted a campaign for the Democratic Party’s nomination. Messenger most likely will challenge Balter in a Primary Election face-off in September, 2018.
