Deputies Investigating Industrial Accident Town of Clay, New York – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an industrial accident that occurred this morning at the National Grid facility in the Town of Clay.
This morning at approximately 11:19 AM, sheriff’s deputies along with rescue personnel responded to the National Grid facility located at 7437 Henry Clay Blvd. for a reported industrial accident. Deputies investigating the accident report that an employee of a contracted company was assisting with loading steel support beams onto a flatbed trailer when the load shifted, causing the steel beams to fall off the trailer and onto the employee.
The victim, who suffered a traumatic injury, was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. The identity of the victim and the name of his employer, are being withheld at this time, pending family notifications. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified and deputies continue to investigate the accident.
