In 2016 there were 142 opioid overdose deaths in Onondaga County. Since then, the county has made great efforts to train people in the use of Narcan and death rates have declined 50%. All students in the February 25 training at Falk College will qualify to be certified to carry and use Narcan should they encounter a person anywhere who has overdosed.
