The Well of Hope Church has begun an initiative designed to fill some of the gaps caused by distance learning. The Village at The Well Distance Learning Drop In Center has been established “To provide a safe and supportive environment for students to access and engage in a hybrid or remote learning schedule, ensuring continuity of learning.”
Their values are clear, “Keeping students and families at the center, we are built on the principles of compassion, resiliency, academic excellence, relationships and connections that positively affect student learning outcomes. We also believe that during this challenging time, building and sustaining supportive partnerships with families and members of the community remain at the forefront.”
The priority at the Distance Learning Drop In Center, is keeping students and staff at The Village safe. The organization is adhering to all federal, state and local mandates for preventing and mitigating the spread of COVID 19 and other communicable diseases. This includes incorporating recommendations and guidance from the CDC, the NYS Department of Health and NYSED.
What will Safety Look Like? Students and staff will be required to wear face masks. Upon, entry, daily temperature checks will be taken. Regular cleaning, disinfection, and promoting hand hygiene will be conducted. The Village will adhere to physical distance mandates in each classroom and common areas.
Location: The Village at The Well, 1640 South Ave, Syracuse, NY 13207 Hours of Operation: Mon-Fri, 6:00am-5:00pm
Fee: $35.00 per day for grades, K-8. $30.00 per week for grades 9-12. Breakfast and lunch included.
Program Capacity: 75 student capacity, with physical distancing in each classroom.
Grade Levels: K-12
- Student grouping: Students will be grouped according to their grade level and when possible grouped with school based cohorts.
- Access and Technology: High Speed internet access is available. Students will use school provided chrome-books.
- Headphones will be required for students to use during synchronous online class sessions such as Zoom, Google Meets, etc.
- Prosocial Peer Interactions: Opportunities for students to positively engage with other peers following CDC and DOH guidelines.
Accountability and Supervision: Students will be supervised daily to ensure completion of required remote learning assignments. Adult-student ratio will depend on number of students in attendance each day.

Drop in is on a first come, first serve basis.
The Village at the Well Drop in Center is insured and staffed with qualified volunteers and current and retired educators.
