City of Syracuse homeowners and aspiring homeowners can now take advantage of an influx of funding made possible through the City of Syracuse from the U.S. Department of the Treasury as part of the American Rescue Plan Act. Here’s what is available now:

Syracuse Homeowner Assistance & Repair Program (SHARP) Grants – Grants of up to $3,000 for exterior and/or to address health and safety, and code issues. Homeowners must live within Qualified Census Tracts and the household must meet income eligibility requirements. Syracuse Urgent Care Program – 50/50 loan and grant to address emergency repairs like a leaking roof, no heat or no hot water. Homeowners must live within Qualified Census Tracts and the household must meet income eligibility requirements. Closing Cost Assistance – Eligible first-time homebuyers can apply for up to $5,000 in closing cost assistance for the purchase of a home within the city of Syracuse in a Qualified Census Tract.
