Iroquois Healthcare Association Workforce Investment Organization to host its first-ever Caring Gene® Career Fair

Central New York Virtual Event Scheduled for Monday, March 9 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Caring Industry Virtual Recruitment and Training Expo is designed to connect caring industry organizations to qualified candidates

Albany, NY – February 23, 2021 – The Iroquois Healthcare Association Workforce Investment Organization (IHA WIO) will host a Caring Gene® Career Fair next week for Central New York. The Virtual Recruitment and Training Expo will connect caring industry organizations to qualified candidates who have the Caring Gene – the innate desire to care for others.

The virtual fair is a unique opportunity to enter one of the fastest growing fields in the country. Whether candidates are out of work, experiencing financial hardships from 2020 or looking for a new career, these jobs require no previous work experience. Candidates can start a new and promising career as a personal care assistant, home health aide, certified nurse aide, or enlist in a support staff position.

The virtual event will give candidates the opportunity to video chat with employers and apply for hundreds of job and training opportunities available right now in the long-term care industry across New York state. There are clinical and non-clinical job openings, plus training to become certified to work in long term care. In some cases, candidates will need to prequalify for appropriate training and certifications (where required).

Since 2018, IHA WIO has provided training and recruitment services to New York’s nursing homes, assisted living facilities and home care agencies through funds made available by the New York State Department of Health.
