Community Folk Art Center’s year-round schedule includes lectures, musical and theatrical performances, exhibits, workshops, and other special events. We are looking across generations from a family storytelling event on February 17, in conjunction with a hallway exhibition of Caldecott Medal winning Jerry Pinkney and Brian Pinkney, with a February 16th gallery talk by them and their storytelling partners, Gloria Jean and Andrea(SU ’85).

Listen, Learn, Create: Family Literacy Day

Leroy The Wide Mouth Frog, JackE Grace

A day for stories and crafts for the entire family. Local children’s author JackE Grace will read from her new book Leroy The Wide Mouth Frog, as well as a screening of the Ashley Bryan film I Know a Man which tells his story of using art his entire life to celebrate joy, mediate the darkness of war and racism, explore the mysteries of faith, and create a loving community.
