SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Joint Schools Construction Board (JSCB) will hold a public hearing on July 24, 2014 at 9:00 A.M. in the Syracuse Common Council Chambers to seek community input on a draft diversity plan. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and offer comments on the draft plan, which is currently under review by the Board.
“The Joint Schools Construction project is a transformative effort to create the highest quality facilities for our children in our school district,” said Syracuse Mayor Stephanie A. Miner, who serves as Chair of the JSCB. “Ensuring this project is completed using the skills of minority and women contractors and employees helps ensure the benefits of building schools reverberate even further through our community.
The draft diversity plan, written for the second phase of JSCB construction projects, details the principles and goals the Board will follow to select contractors who will perform the school renovation projects. A copy of the diversity plan can be viewed at the JSCB website
