Washington, DC — U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) voted today in support of the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act:
“Today, I voted in support of a bipartisan measure that will provide $8.3 billion in emergency funds to support efforts to immediately address the Coronavirus outbreak. I believe we must act swiftly, decisively, and in a bipartisan manner to develop treatments and contain the outbreak. I supported this measure today because it takes a comprehensive and proactive approach by authorizing $4 billion for the research, development, and deployment of vaccines and diagnostic tests, $2.2 billion for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and nearly $1 billion for state and local health agencies.
“I urge all Central New Yorkers to take preventative measures to limit the spread of disease. I will remain engaged on this issue and will continue my work in Congress to promote the public health and safety of families in Central New York.”
