The Women’s Opportunity Center (W.O.C.) has officially launched their brand-new program called LEADS (Leadership, Employment and Developmental Skills) in the Syracuse area. LEADS is a FREE 4-week hands-on Retail/Customer Service training program that runs from Monday-Friday from 9:30am-3:30pm.
During the training, individuals will learn how to properly build a resume/cover letter, use POS technology, increase their typing skills, and learn customer service skills. We will also have guest speakers and facility tours. In addition to our hands-on training we offer additional amenities that include lunch once a week while you participate in the program, professional business attire through our on-site clothing closet, toiletries bags, and bus passes.
The LEADS Program has direct connections with hiring managers and recruiters to assist you with obtaining employment once you complete the training program. Click on links below for more program information and details.
There have been many success stories at the Women’s Opportunity Center. Their most recent success stories include a collaboration with Jubilee Homes’ Workforce Development program- Build to Work (B2W). Jubilee Homes’ B2W program assists the program with recruitment through their 2-week work readiness training program which also serves as a prerequisite for our LEADs program. Their 2nd success story is about a young lady who finished both programs and landed a brand-new career as a Pharmacy Technician at a big named company.
To become one of LEADS latest success stories you may contact LEADS us by stopping by their office located at 901 James St. Syracuse, NY 13203, or calling at 315-446-0550 between 9:00AM-4:00PM or emailing the LEADS instructor: Kayla Jones (firstname.lastname@example.org) to find out program eligibility requirements.
