TFN educates community members and key stakeholders with evidence-based approaches that are proven to decrease smoking in youth, motivate adults to quit and eliminate secondhand smoke exposure.
There is overwhelming evidence that more youth are smoking today than ever, though most youth are using electronic cigarettes such as the JUUL. “Studies show that within one year of using an electronic cigarette a person will use traditional cigarettes.” Ana McGough Reality Check member from ITC.
Schools across Onondaga County will share educational messages and information for smokers to quit. The theme for the Great American Smokeout is – Day One- that quitting smoking isn’t easy. It takes time. And a plan. You don’t have to stop smoking in one day. Start with day one. Let this day be your day to start your journey toward a smoke-free life.
