Man Hospitalized After Being Assaulted Inside His East Syracuse Home

East Syracuse, New York – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office reports that Detectives have charged an Oswego County man in connection with an altercation that occurred Tuesday morning inside an East Syracuse home.

On October 27th  2020 at approximately 7:00 AM, sheriff’s deputies responded to Upstate University Hospital for an assault investigation. Deputies investigating the incident report that the victim, a 24 year old male was assaulted inside his home on Myers Road, East Syracuse, by an acquaintance of his after the two had an argument. During the altercation, the suspect repeatedly punched the victim about the face and also caused a large laceration to his face with a knife.

The suspect, who was identified as Djaquinn Johnson (34) of East Utica Street, Fulton, was charged by Detectives yesterday evening with assault in the 1st  degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree. He is currently being held in the Justice Center and is expected to be arraignment this morning. The victim sustained facial fractures which required surgery and has since been released from the hospital.
