Walsh taps Le Moyne College and Syracuse University College of Law alum to lead city legal team
Syracuse, NY (Dec. 30, 2017) – Syracuse Mayor-elect Ben Walsh announced the appointment of Frank Price, Jr., to be the next Corporation Counsel for the City of Syracuse. Price brings more than four decades of practice in business and corporate law, and a deep dedication to community service to City Hall.
“The people of the City of Syracuse will be well served by Frank Price. He brings both the heart and the credentials we need to do the job,” Walsh said.
“Frank is a lifelong Syracuse resident with a passion for our city and for the people of our community. He’s devoted years of service to community organizations that are vital to the quality of life in Syracuse,” Walsh said. “He is also an accomplished attorney with broad expertise in business and corporate law, as well as direct experience managing a legal team.”
Price has been special counsel to the law firm of Hinman, Howard & Kattell since 2009. His practice focused on business law, corporate law, and real estate. He previously served as Vice President and General Counsel of P&C Food Markets Inc., and The Penn Traffic Co. He attended Le Moyne College and went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the Syracuse University College of Law.
Price is a Member of the Board of Trustees of Christopher Community Inc.; a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Onondaga Community College; a past Member of the Board of Regents of Le Moyne College; a past Member of the Board of Advisors for the Salvation Army; and a past Trustee of Most Holy Rosary Church.
As Corporation Counsel, Price will head the Department of Law, which manages the legal affairs of the City of Syracuse. The department takes an active role in the City’s economic development activities, public works projects, real estate transactions, ordinances, and local laws.
