Loh will step down from his position as Executive Vice President, Managing Director of Public Relations and Public Affairs at Eric Mower + Associates to join the Walsh administration.

Syracuse, NY (December 13, 2017) – Mayor-elect Ben Walsh today announced he will appoint Greg Loh as Director of City Initiatives for the City of Syracuse. In his new role in the Office of the Mayor, Loh will drive programs and activities that advance the city of Syracuse locally, regionally and nationally. He will lead communications and marketing for the city and be responsible for public engagement. He will also work with several other functions, including Constituent Services, Innovation, and Research.

“I’m excited that Greg Loh has agreed to join our team,” Walsh said. “Greg’s expertise in the private sector and his depth of management experience will bring fresh ideas to city government. My team will place a high priority on public outreach and input, and I’m looking forward to Greg’s ability to bring new approaches to how the city engages with the people of Syracuse.”

Loh brings a broad knowledge of the community that has developed through three decades of professional experience and civic leadership. In his role as executive vice president, managing director of public relations and public affairs with Eric Mower + Associates, Loh led a team of more 50 people across five states. Loh’s civic and volunteer activities demonstrate a concern for community organizations that make Syracuse a better place to live and work. He currently serves as secretary and a member of the executive committee of CenterState CEO. He served as chairman of the United Way of Central New York and was a member of the executive committee of the Everson Museum. Loh is currently a board member of the Onondaga Community College Foundation and is chair of the Communications Advisory Council for PEACE, Inc.

“There is an optimism and sense of confidence in the city that I want to help Mayor-elect Walsh build upon and grow,” Loh said. “I hope to use my skills and knowledge of the community to help the Mayor-Elect and his team tackle the challenges we face and move the city forward.”

Loh graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, where he was a dual major in Political Science at the Maxwell School of Citizenship, and Public Relations at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Prior to Eric Mower + Associates, Loh was a broadcast journalist. Loh is moving to the City of Syracuse with his family.
