Mayor Stephanie A. Miner to Give Farewell Address at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School October 27

Farewell Address:  The Need for Reflection in a Hot-Take Culture

Mayor Stephanie A. Miner is completing her second and final term as Mayor of the City of Syracuse.  In this farewell address, she looks back on her tenure, draws lessons learned, and connects those experiences with a broader challenge facing our political culture.

The event will take place on Friday, October 27, at 4 p.m. EST in Maxwell Auditorium, Maxwell Hall, Syracuse University.

Mayor Miner is the 53rd mayor of the City of Syracuse, elected in 2009 and again in 2013.  She is the first woman elected mayor of the City of Syracuse, and the first woman to lead one of New York’s “Big 5” cities.  Mayor Miner is a 1992 Maxwell School graduate with a B.A. in Political Science, in addition to a B.A. in Newspaper from the Newhouse School – and has chosen to return to deliver her sole public farewell address to the local area.
