Small Business Show – SOHO Syracuse 2016

It’s The Networking Event for Small Business in Central New York! The Small Business Show – SOHO Syracuse 2016 will be happening Tuesday, May 17th, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Oncenter Convention Center in Syracuse. This marks the 18th year for the show that helps small businesses succeed and for entrepreneurs looking to start their own business.

This show can assist small businesses by expanding your business network and provide options for growth. See over 130 displays of products, services and resources for small businesses in Central New York.

There are Small Business Presentations as well at the show. The topics for these presentations are customized for small businesses. The Small Business Presentations are FREE.

SMALL BUSINESS PRESENTATIONS

The following will take place in the Presentation Area located in the Exhibit Hall (aisle 100).

10:30am “How to get your story into The Business Journal?” (30 minutes)

Central New York Business Journal

Adam Rombel, the managing editor of The Central New York Business Journal, will offer practical tips for getting the news out about your business. Attendees will gain an understanding of what types of news The Business Journallooks for and reports.

  • 11:30am “How Sustainability Actually Helps Your Business!” – Sponsored by HALCO ENERGY
    This panel will give you insights why sustainability is important for your office and business! Participating on the panel includes Sustainable Office Solutions, Halco Energy & the SUN Group.

12:30pm “The City of Syracuse & Onondaga County is Open for Business!” (30 minutes)

City of Syracuse & Onondaga County Economic Development

Find out how you can help your business in the City of Syracuse & Onondaga County. This presentation will include information about Payments in Lieu of Taxes; Employee Productivity Program; Location Assistance; Resource Partner Alliance: Tax Exemptions; Taxable and Tax Free Bonding; Foreign Trade Zone #90; and Quasi Equity Loans. Be sure to bring your questions, too.

1:30pm “Three Organizations That Can Help Your Small Business” (30 minutes)

Greater Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, WISE – Women’s Business Center &

U.S. Small Business Administration

You are not alone! You can have tremendous support from these three organizations that are dedicated to small businesses. Find out how these organizations can give you opportunities to network with other businesses, gain educational business insights and help be an advocate for your small business.

2:30pm “Grand Slam Entrepreneurs – Part 3l!” (60 minutes)

This is an opportunity to hear how four entrepreneurs started out and became successful –the panel will include David Shiroff of Metro Mattress, David Foor with Visual Technologies, Laura Serway and Cindy Seymour of Laci’s Tapas Bar. There’ll be a question & answer period, too. Moderator will be Matt Mulcahy of CNY Central.

During the show attendees can register for various prizes including roundtrip tickets from JetBlue Airways.
