Miner Announces Annual “Share Your Story” Holiday Challenge

Winners of the Annual Contest Join Mayor Miner on Stage During the Clinton Square Tree Lighting Ceremony

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The City of Syracuse is holding its “Share Your Story” challenge as part of its annual Home for the Holidays celebration. Three Syracuse students who shared their favorite holiday story will join Mayor Stephanie A. Miner on stage to light the Clinton Square tree on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. This year will mark the sixth year of the contest.

Mayor Stephanie A. Miner said: “Each year, I am pleased to be joined by young people from the City of Syracuse for this holiday tradition. I am glad to once again sponsor this fun competition that brings out the creativity of Syracuse students.”

Mayor Miner is asking students to name their favorite holiday story or book and share their personal connection to it through writing or a drawing of a favorite scene. Entries may be submitted electronically to mayor@syrgov.net or mailed to:wreath bright red_1

All entries must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016.  Winners will be notified on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 by 5 p.m.  All students must be City of Syracuse residents.  Entries should include the student’s name, grade, name of the student’s school, name of their parent/guardian and their phone number.
