Miner: CGI America Discussing Infrastructure’s Importance to Our Country’s Future
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Mayor Stephanie A. Miner has been invited to attend the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) America conference next week in Denver, Colorado and participate in the working group on infrastructure financing for cities and states.
“The Clinton Global Initiative asked me to participate in discussions on the need for new solutions to update and maintain critical infrastructure,” said Syracuse Mayor Stephanie A. Miner. “It is an honor to be invited to join leaders from across the country who are ready to have this conversation.”
CGI America conference attendees will participate in plenary sessions and be broken up into ten working groups. Mayor Miner will be part of the Infrastructure Financing for Cities and States working group. The group’s agenda will include discussions of leveraging private funds to rebuild infrastructure, strategic project selection, and rebuilding infrastructure after natural disasters.
Mayor Miner added: “I speak with Mayors and local officials daily who are trying to give their communities a working infrastructure for the 21st century. Syracusans talk to me about water mains, Interstate 81, as well as emerging infrastructure issues like broadband networks. This is an important discussion to have and I am pleased to have been invited to participate in CGI America.”
The CGI America conference will take place from June 23 through June 25 in Denver, Colorado. This will be Mayor Miner’s first time attending a CGI America conference. The Mayor will be joined by other elected officials, leaders in organized labor, and experts from the financial services, engineering, and construction industries.
