On a monthly basis NEHDA produces a newsletter that has interesting information, not only for their area of the city, but for the entire Syracuse Community. Highlights include: “Together We’re Better” Pre-Workforce Program, 2019 Northside Festival, City-Wide Youth Day: Back to School Pep Rally
“Together We’re Better” Pre-Workforce Program
NEHDA, Syracuse Northeast Community Center, and ARISE are teaming up to implement the “Together We’re Better” pre-workforce program.
The goal of Together We’re Better is to combat social isolation by supporting people who have either never had a job or have not had a job in a long time, so they feel comfortable and confident seeking longer term employment after completing the program.
Participants will be placed as volunteers at local agencies, and they will be supported through weekly soft-skill group classes.
The first class will be on Wednesday, September 11th.
If you, or anyone you know, would be a good fit as a participant in Together We’re Better, please reach out to Seamus@NEHDA.org.
