New York State Fair Begins its Annual Run August 21 – September 2


It’s that time of year as the Great New York State Fair begins on Wednesday August 21st and runs through September 2nd. As with every year there are new rides and attractions On The Midway: New Ride, The Frisbee, Offers Big Thrills. Highlights of this year’s event include a new location for Latino Village; Funkfest To Expand with New World Beat Event, new Trolley enhances options for getting from one end of the 2019 Great New York State Fair to the other. Pan African Village returns with another year presenting diverse entertainment stage along with food, art, crafts and demonstrations.

Exposition Center

The great New York State Fair has been breaking attendance records in response to investments by New York State. Last year the facility opened the Exposition Center which is one of the largest event spaces in the state. With attendance figures now topping 1 million visitors the 375-acre New York State Fair is the third largest in the nation. County and state fairs began to display the areas best in agriculture, animals of various kinds are judged, along with carefully cultivated Roses, area artwork, even mom’s apple pie. Yes, there’s a ribbon for that also.

Automobile Parking

The New York State Fairgrounds has parking for over 23,000 vehicles. During the State Fair parking is available in our designated Orange, Brown, Pink, Gray and Willis Ave. parking lots at the Fair. Follow signs from exit 7 on 690 East or West. Cost is $5.00 per vehicle. E-Z Pass Plus will be accepted in the Brown and Orange lots. Follow the E-ZPass Plus signs for quick, cashless access (see detailed information below). A free shuttle bus service is provided from the Orange lot to the main gate and from the new Willis Ave. lot to the new Centro Park-N-Ride area outside gate 10.

Fairgoers driving to the State Fair with authorized people with disabilities parking tags or license plates, can park their vehicles in the paved Pink Accessible Parking Lot. The entrance to this the lot is across from Gate 3 off State Fair Boulevard. There is limited additional accessible parking in the Emerald Lot which can be entered across from Byrne Dairy on Bridge Street. In addition, parking spaces for people with disabilities and who have the proper hanging tags or license plates, are available in the paved Orange Lot and in the unpaved Brown Lot.
