Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor and material necessary for the Manlius Senior Centre Activity Room Improvements, Contract No. 1 will be received at the Village of Manlius Administrator/Clerk’s office in the Village Centre located at One Arkie Albanese Avenue, Manlius, New York 13104, until 1:00 P.M. local time, Friday, August 8, 2008 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids will be received for the following Contract:
Contract No. 1 – Manlius Senior Centre Activity Room Improvements:
∙ Renovation of the existing Activity Room and Toilet Room, new wall partitions and finishes, new flooring, asbestos abatement, new plumbing fixtures, HVAC equipment and associated steam piping, and all other related items.
Contract Documents, including Advertisement For Bids, Information For Bidders, Labor and Employment, Additional Instructions, Bid Documents, Agreement, General Conditions, General Requirements, Specifications, Contract Drawings and any Addenda, may be examined on or after July 11, 2008 at no expense at the office of Barton & Loguidice, P.C., Consulting Engineers, 290 Elwood Davis Road, Liverpool, New York 13088, or at the Village of Manlius Centre’s office, One Arkie Albanese Avenue, Manlius, New York 13104. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from Barton & Loguidice, P.C., upon deposit of Thirty Dollars ($30.00) for each set. Any bidder upon returning such set in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the Contract or the rejection of the bids will be refunded his payment, and any non-bidder upon so returning such set in good condition will be refunded Fifteen Dollars ($15.00). Checks only shall be made payable to the Village of Manlius.
CASH DEPOSITS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. ALL HANDLING COSTS (MAIL, DELIVERY SERVICES, ETC.) SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BIDDER.
A Pre-Bid Meeting Site Inspection will be held at 10:00 A.M. local time, Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the site. Attendance by all those proposing to submit bids is strongly encouraged.
Each bid must be accompanied by security in an amount not less than five percentum (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening thereof.
This is an exempt capital improvement project, and Bidders shall not include in their bid sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials which are to be incorporated into the work and which are to be separately sold by the Contractor to the Village of Manlius prior to incorporation into the work of the Contract.
A portion of this project is funded in part by a grant from the Onondaga County Community Development Division. Approximately 75% of the total project cost for improvements to the Senior Centre Activity Room will be financed with Federal money. Bidders will be required to commit themselves to a goal for minority business participation for the portion of this Contract directly related to the Senior Centre Activity Room Improvements.
The attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract.
The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.
