Obituary: Clinton Jackson, Jr.

South Portland- Clinton Jackson Jr., 63, of Coach Road, died peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Maine Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

Clint was born on July 8, 1951 in Auburn, Alabama the son of Clinton Sr. and Stonie Day Jackson.  He attended schools in Syracuse, New York.  After high school he enlisted and served in the United States Coast Guard.

Clint has lived in South Portland for his entire Adult life, raising his family here with his longtime companion Patricia Hopkins.  He owned and operated his own painting company, DC Painting, for more than 25 years.  In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the Track with friends or standing on the side of a brook fishing.  His greatest love was the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.  Clint was a very loving and social person who loved being around people.

Clint was predeceased by his father Clinton Jackson Sr. and his stepfather Napoleon Martin.  He is survived by his companion Patricia Hopkins of South Portland; mother Stonie Martin of NY; two daughters Tia and Megan Jackson both of South Portland; one son Clinton III and his wife Wendy Jackson of South Portland; two sisters Betty Sherman of NY and Tami and her husband Charles Davis of NY, two brothers Lorenzo and Kenneth Jackson both of NY; two grandchildren Brooke Isabelle and Parker Clinton Jackson both of South Portland; several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 10:00am with the Rev. Philip Shearman officiating.  Burial will be in Forest City Cemetery, Lincoln Street, South Portland.  Online Condolences may be expressed at www.ctcrawford.com
