Onondaga County Office for Aging – Call for Nominations Due 2/26 – Older Americans Month 2021

May is Older Americans Month. This year’s theme is “Communities of Strength.” Our Onondaga County seniors have built strength and resilience over their lives and especially during this past year. This May we celebrate them, and those that serve them, with special emphasis on the power of building a strong community through engagement and connection.

Now, more than ever, we need to recognize, and celebrate, excellence! Onondaga County Office for Aging is encouraging you to nominate three outstanding Onondaga County community members for:

Senior Citizen of the Year, Serving Seniors Honoree of the Year and the Flanders Memorial Caregiver of the Year.

The Senior Citizen of the Year will participate in the New York State Virtual Event on May 18, 2021. All award winners will be recognized at a future Celebration Luncheon for Onondaga County Seniors. In May 2021, Older Americans Month, each recipient will be each be presented with a Certificate of Achievement and will be recognized publicly by local media and by the Onondaga County Executive, J.
