SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Onondaga County Public Library (OCPL) today announced public availability of thousands of movies, television shows, music and audiobooks for mobile and online access. A new partnership with hoopla digital (hoopladigital.com) now makes it possible for Central Library and city branch library cardholders to download thousands of titles from major Hollywood studios, record companies and publishers to their smartphones, tablets, computers and Apple TV.
Cardholders can download the free hoopla digital mobile app on their Android or IOS device or visit hoopladigital.com to borrow items for instant streaming or temporary downloading. “With hoopla digital, library patrons can access content on the hoopla app or Web site. Since the service is digital, there is no waiting period for popular titles, and with the automatic return feature, no late fees.” said Peg Elliott, information services librarian at the Central Library. Currently, up to five titles can be checked out per month per card.
The Northern Onondaga Public Library will add hoopla on February 14, 2014.
For more information, contact your local OCPL branch library or call The Robert P. Kinchen Central Library at 315-435-1900.
Hoopla Digital, a service of Midwest Tape, partners with public libraries across North America to provide online and mobile access to movies, TV shows, videos, music and audiobooks.
