Opening Doors to Government Contracting Conference


Minority and women entrepreneurs are invited to “Opening Doors to Government Contracting Conference” held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on May 21 at The Tech Garden in downtown Syracuse. The conference is presented by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Syracuse District Office, Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center Procurement Assistance Center, Onondaga SBDC, North Country Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Syracuse SCORE, The Tech Garden, and the WISE Women’s Business Center.

“Opening Doors to Government Contracting” will provide key information, resources and practical advice on how to do business with federal, state, and local agencies. The half-day conference includes presentations from procurement resource specialists and successful business owners that are currently selling to the government. Procurement resource specialists will present specific government procurement programs and certifications for minority and women entrepreneurs. Five concurrent workshops will cover federal contracting, federal certifications, WOSB certification, NYS MWBE certification, and contracting opportunities with the City of Syracuse and Onondaga County. Entrepreneurs will be able to network with the sponsoring organizations, the City of Syracuse and Empire State Development. The conference includes a continental breakfast.
