Overnight Syracuse August 5th & 6th: Multiple Calls Requiring Police Response, Shootings with Injuries and a Stabbing

As with any urban area there will be periods of time when incidents such as the following occur in rapid succession. Some of these violent crime reports within a 2 hour period happen over a weekend period. These reports are to give residents and neighborhoods an idea of the challenges we face as a community.  Are these random incidents? Do those involved have previous history? The impression taken away from the publication of raw police data can be frightening.  However, it’s important to know what’s going on. – Editor’s Note

Catherine Street Shooting with Injuries- Saturday, September 5th, 2020, at around 9:12 P.M., Officers responded to the 700 block of Catherine St. for a shooting with injuries type call. Upon arrival, Officers located an 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The male was taken to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive. A residence was also struck by gunfire.

Police Respond to S. Salina Street Stabbing Call – Saturday, September 5th, 2020, at around 10:27 P.M., Officers responded to 100 block of S. Salina St. for a stabbing call. Upon arrival, Officer located a 26-year-old male who had been stabbed in the stomach. The victim was transported to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive.

Police Respond to Shooting Reported on Neutral Ct. – Saturday, September 5th, 2020, at around 10:37 P.M., Officers responded to the 100 block of Neutral Ct. for a shooting with injuries type call. Upon arrival, Officers located a male who had been shot in the leg. The male was transported to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive. Multiple casings were located on the scene, and a house was struck.

Fernwood Ave. Shooting Reported Syracuse Police Respond – Saturday, September 5th, 2020, at around 11:39 P.M., Officers responded to the 100 block of Fernwood Ave. for a stabbing call. Upon arrival, Officers located a 25-year-old male with multiple stabs wounds to the chest and a 38-year-old female with a stab wound to the arm. The male was transported to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive. The female was treated on the scene.

Shots Fired Call Casings Found on Montgomery at E. Adams Street- Sunday, September 6th, 2020, at around 12:10 A.M., Officers responded to the intersection of Montgomery St. and E. Adams St. for a shots fired type call. Upon arrival, Officers located evidence of a shots fired, and several casings were located.
