Sealed bids for the construction of Park Hill Redevelopment Phases 2 &3 – Contract No. 2 will be received at the office of the Town Clerk, Town of DeWitt, 5400 Butternut Drive, East Syracuse, New York, 13057, until 11:00 A.M., local time, July 9, 2009 and there at said office at said time publicly opened and read aloud.
This project includes the construction of approximately 5,800 feet of granite curbing along Cutler Street, Avon Street and a portion of North Highland Avenue in the Park Hill Neighborhood in the Town of DeWitt, Onondaga County, New York.
This project is funded (in part) by a grant from the Onondaga County Community Development Division. Approximately $260,000 of the project cost will be financed with federal money. The goal for Minority Business Enterprise participation will be met by other portions of the project. Affirmative Action requirements will need to be met by the Contractor.
The Contract Documents may be obtained only from the office of O’Brien & Gere Engineers, Inc., 5000 Brittonfield Parkway, Syracuse, New York, 13221, upon deposit of the sum of $50 per set. Checks shall be made payable to the Town of DeWitt. The full amount of deposit for one set of Contract Documents will be refunded to any Bidder who has duly submitted a bid accompanied by the bid security required by this Advertisement and who returns the Contract Documents complete and in good condition within thirty days following the award of the Contract or the rejection of the bid. The full amount of deposit for one set of Contract Documents will be refunded to the successful Bidder upon the execution of the Contract Documents. A partial refund in the amount of $25 will be made for the return, within thirty days following the award of the Contract or the rejection of the bids, of other sets of Contract Documents complete and in good condition.
Copies of the above described Contract Documents may be examined at no expense at the Office of the Town Clerk, Town of DeWitt, 5400 Butternut Drive, DeWitt, New York, 13057, the office of O’Brien & Gere Engineers, Inc., 5000 Brittonfield Parkway, Syracuse, New York, 13221, and the Onondaga County Community Development Division Office, 1100 Civic Center, 421 Montgomery Street, Syracuse, New York, 13202.
The Owner is exempt from the payment of sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York and of cities and counties on all materials, equipment and supplies sold to the Owner pursuant to this Contract. Also exempt from such taxes are purchases by the Contractor and his Subcontractors of materials, equipment and supplies to be sold to the Owner pursuant to this Contract, including tangible personal property to be incorporated in any structure, building or other real property forming part of the Project. These taxes are not to be included in the Bid.
Each Bid must be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders.
The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.
