Price Rite Celebrates 2nd Anniversary of their South Avenue Store

100 Gift Cards each worth $10 will be given away at 8:00 AM

They said it couldn’t be done, when Jubilee Homes and area residents banned together in an effort to attract a grocery store to the South Ave. business District. It took a decade for the neighborhood generated efforts to come to fruition, local government provided some funding with the largest investment coming from the Wakefern Company, parent of Price Rite Market Place.

The location had gone through a series of uses before becoming a Price Rite, as a bustling neighborhood this was home to a Loblaw’s grocery store. The addition of Price Rite, in the same location is part of a trend throughout the city of Syracuse. Many formerly desolate locations are coming back to life, as parts of our city are filling in with new residents.

South Ave. proposed project community vision along Business District

The organization has commissioned a study that proposes even more development for the South Ave. Business District and surrounding neighborhood.

It seemed like only yesterday when a coalition of stakeholders broke ground on the Price Rite grocery store on located on South Ave. in Syracuse. In addition to providing local area jobs, the investment has paid off as other businesses are planning on locating near the South Avenue Business District. Pathfinder Bank will open a full service bank; while Salt City Coffee is becoming one of the places in the neighborhood go for coffee and conversation.

On Friday April 5th the Price Rite South Ave. location will celebrate its two year anniversary as well as hosting a meet and greet with the new Regional Director John Corpora, District Manager David Gaines and Store Manager Tim O’Leary.

As a token of appreciation for the continued community support, Price Rite will give out 100 $10 gift cards (1 per family) beginning at 8:00 am.
