Washington, D.C. — Following bipartisan passage in the House of a measure to provide $4.6 billion in emergency spending for the southern border, Rep. Katko released the below statement:
“I applaud Republicans and Democrats for coming together to pass a bipartisan border funding bill this evening. The crisis on the southern border is growing more dire by the day, and we need real solutions to solve this crisis. The bipartisan measure we passed this evening provides critical humanitarian relief funding, as well as dollars for immigration judges and essential law enforcement personnel operating at the southern border. The bipartisan plan, already approved by the Senate, is now headed to the President’s desk for signature.”
– The bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, of which Congressman Katko is a member, played a pivotal role in ensuring this legislation was brought to the House floor for vote. Congressman Katko spoke on the floor of the House earlier today announcing the Problem Solvers Caucus support for the bill.
