Residents Asked to Avoid Overnight Recycling Bin Setouts The Evening of April 13 Due to Anticipated High Winds

Syracuse, N.Y. — The City of Syracuse Department of Public Works is asking residents to set out recycling bins the morning of Tuesday, Apr. 14 as close to 6 a.m. as possible rather than leave bins out overnight. High winds of up to 60 miles per hour are expected in certain areas of Central New York between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening, with the potential for strong winds to continue into Tuesday. When able, residents should place recycling bins out as close to the scheduled pick up time before sanitation crews begin collecting recycling Tuesday morning or wait until the following week to place recycling bins out to prevent litter from being blown into the streets.
