School and Community Connection Celebration to Offer Free School Supplies, Groceries, Entertainment and More

The Syracuse City School District in collaboration with Abundant Life Christian Center and Wegmans is hosting a Back to School Community Celebration at the Public Service Leadership Academy at Fowler High School (227 Magnolia Street) on Saturday, July 23rd from 11am to 2pm.

Syracuse City School District to receive $3,251,426

The event will include free:

  • Groceries (fresh meat, produce, dairy, fruit, non-perishables, etc.)
  • School supplies & back packs •Book give-away
  • Games/prizes, face painting
  • Music/entertainment
  • Health screenings (BMI, Blood pressure, Vaccination education)
  • Exercise & healthy cooking demonstrations
  • Voter registration and other exciting activities

Parents and students will be provided with valuable school and community resources while helping them prepare for the start of the school year. The Syracuse City School District will begin the 2016-17 School Year on Wednesday, September 7th.

The event will take place in the back on the building on the athletic fields facing South Geddes Street.
