SCSD Adult Education Department to Host Community Literacy Event Featuring a reading of the book ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?’

The SCSD Department of Adult and Continuing Education’s Refugee Assistance Program at Bob’s School, in partnership with the White Branch Library, is pleased to host a Community Literacy Day event on October 31st. Adults will have the opportunity to practice reading and speaking English, receive a free book and more.

To provide a fun literacy activity for the refugee community and raise awareness of the Adult Education program, the event will feature a reading of the book ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?’ as well as interactive activities relating to the book. Children are welcome, and event staff will speak about Halloween safety and will host fun Halloween-related activities.

The community literacy event is free and will take place on Tuesday, October 31 from 10 am – noon and from 1 pm – 3 pm at the White Branch Library Community Room (763 Butternut Street).
