Seniors and Retirees United for Dana Balter
Syracuse, NY – Central and western New York seniors and retirees hosted a press conference Friday the 12th with Dana Balter, Democratic nominee for Congress in NY-24, to talk about concerns over threats to the critical programs of Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
Bill Spreter, retired teacher and regional representative for the NYS Alliance for Retired Americans, and Pat Greenberg, retired RN, spoke about the concerns of the district for proposed cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. John Katko has refused to protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security in the Balanced Budget Amendment.
Balter is running on a platform of Medicare-for-All and supports the full protection and expansion of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. These programs are earned benefits that Americans have paid into our entire working lives. They are a contract between our government and our people and must be protected.
