Shooting on South Ave Friday Afternoon, 19 Year Old Victim Shot in the Back

The Syracuse Police Department is investigating a Shooting on South Ave. On Friday, September 28, 2018 at about 3:40 P.M, the Syracuse Police Department responded to the area of South Ave. near E. Bissell St. for a call of shots fired.

As officers arrived, they learned that a shooting victim had arrived at Upstate University Hospital in a private vehicle. Upon speaking to the 19 year old male victim, he stated that while he was walking in that area, he was shot from behind by an unknown suspect. The victim sustained two gunshot wounds to his back and is listed in critical condition, but expected to survive.

There is no suspect information at this time. This investigation is active and ongoing. Further information will be released when it becomes available.
