The 2012 Presidential Campaign has produced memorable moments, entertaining until it’s realized that one of these men can become president of the United States someday. After a weird Republican Primary contest Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan emerged from a convention that gave election polls a “zit” instead of the bump expected.
On the other side democrats poured into Charlotte, North Carolina. What would they do in response to the republican challenge?
People were expecting to see the traditional Democratic Donkey, stubbornly getting in their own way just being a nuisance. The Democrats possess a history of having terrible conventions, you know… “Hee haw, Hee haw” like a Donkey. The pundits and cable news talking heads expected the “traditional” while democrats delivered the exceptional.
As MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry stated, “the Donkey from Shrek appeared”. Donkey appeared with an in your face challenge to the republican message of gloom and doom. Eddie Murphy called Donkey “a really positive character. He’s always looking at the bright side of everything, trying to work it out”.
In the meantime, challenger Mitt Romney seems to be from the land of Far Far Away playing the role of Lord Farquaad the ruthless ruler of the huge castle of Duloc.
Farquaad attempts to rid his domain of fairytale creatures, offering a bounty for their capture and then exiling them to Shrek’s swamp. And Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan is playing the role of Pinocchio. Pinocchio is a live wooden puppet who befriends Shrek.
Based on the fairytale character Pinocchio, he cannot lie without having his nose growing very long.
Remember Ryan’s claim, “I didn’t ask for Stimulus Funds”, purveyors of truthiness called him out on his numerous fabrications.
