SPD March 20-21: Red Light Run Injures two, Stabbing Trail Leads to Camillus, Man Trapped Under Car Dies and Shooting Calls with Injuries

Court Street Collision– Saturday, March 20th, 2021, at around 1:53 P.M., Officers responded to First North Street / Court Street for a motor vehicle collision with injuries call. Upon arrival, Officers located two vehicles that collided with each other.

The investigation revealed that one vehicle, a 2006 Mercury ran a red light and struck the other involved vehicle, a 2011 Hyundai. Nyquan Scott, male, 18, drove the 2006 Mercury. Scott was injured from the crash and transported to Upstate Hospital. Scott was also ticketed for running a red light and being unlicensed.

The Mercury was also occupied by two other 18-year-old males who were injured and transported to the hospital. The Hyundai was driven by a 63-year-old male who was not injured. The Hyundai was also occupied by a 70-year-old female and a 69-year-old male who were both injured and transported to the hospital.

Stabbing Leads to Camillus – Saturday, March 20th, 2021, at around 3:24 P.M., Officers responded to the 1300 block of W. Genesee Street for a stabbing call. Upon arrival, Officers located a 34-year-old female who was stabbed in the head and arm.

A short time later, another involved party, a 31-year-old female, was located in the Target parking lot in Camillus. This person suffered from a stab wound to the back.   Both persons were transported to Upstate Hospital, where they are expected to survive. The injuries occurred during a dispute that the two were having.

Man Trapped Under Car Dies – Saturday, March 20th, 2021, at around 3:31 P.M., Officers responded to the 100 block of W. Matson Avenue for an accidental death call.   Upon arrival, Officers located John Montulli​, a 37-year-old male, who was trapped underneath a car.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The investigation revealed that the car fell onto the male as he was working underneath it. The male was trapped for several hours before he was located.

Shooting with Injuries on Kenmore Ave. – Sunday, March 21st, 2021, at around 12:09 A.M., Officers responded to the 100 block of Kenmore Avenue for a shooting call. Upon arrival, Officers located evidence of shots fired and several casings were located.  A short time later, Officer were notified of a 31-year-old male who arrived at Upstate Hospital by private vehicle and was shot in both legs.   The victim is expected to survive.

Man Shot in Hand – Sunday, March 21st, 2021, at around 12:33 A.M., Officers responded to St. Joseph’s Hospital for a shooting with injuries investigation. Upon arrival, Officers located a 49-year-old male who was shot in the hand.   The victim was transported to Upstate Hospital by private vehicle, where he is expected to survive.
